How to do go about developing an app?

I've had this idea of creating an app however I'm not too sure where to take it.

Anybody familiar in this field who would be interested in hearing about the idea?

Software engineer here. I'm assuming you don't know how to code. One option is to try to get a recent grad to work for you for equity, otherwise you'll need to hire someone. Going rates would start at around $40/hour. If you want to share your idea with me I can try to give you some estimate of feasibility and effort required, or possible work with you if I find the idea intriguing.

$40 an hour?? You hiring out of a halfway house??

Decent quality is starting at more than double that...

From what I have gathered, you should outsource it to Asia. My uncle in law who runs a coding business referred me to a guy there for $10/hr. You can have them sign an NDA before sharing the idea and working with whoever it is you decide to work with.

I don't believe in that but I suppose software engineers are in high demand now and they should charge high rates while they can. Tech bubble will burst soon and with companies outsourcing, I don't see it lasting forever.

While i agree with you on the bubble bursting, they still have some time...

As for pricing, it is what it is, stateside and in the Bay Area... I deal with it every day... You aren't finding anyone worth a lick for under $100 an hour... That being said, you're still going to find garbage for same price as well unfortunately... But anyone with a portfolio and having done work for anyone even remotely known, can charge an arm and a leg and they'll get it... I know graphic designers who go for over $200 an hour and they just make things pretty... Another hilarious but factual anecdote - 5 years ago, DevOps didn't exist, but it is single handedly one of the most sought after positions currently... Nobody can explain exactly what it is they do, companies just feel that they need one, lol... You should see what DevOps salary is in Bay Area and also Los Angeles... It's RIDICULOUS...

I don't doubt it all all. I know some that are making bank right now because it is such a good period of time for such career. Kinda wish I majored in compsci. Lol but I'm not a technical guy.

I'm a college student myself and this idea revolves around connecting strictly college students. I would not mind partnering up with somebody and pursuing if they think it is worth while.

Would be hell of a story to say it all started from bimmerpost.
