94 k miles. The clunk was very substantial and loud yesterday. No clunk this morning. I might start parking the car with front-in, instead of rear-in. If things improve by parking rear side inclined, then this is a not the camshaft issue. I will try getting a diagnosis from a BMW indy shop. My last solution will be to rid myself of it. Costs once, but man, I cannot afford working on it! |

It's the 6hp19 clunk!
Turns out it's not the engine, it's rather the self-checking mechanism of the Automatic Transmission 6HP19!
SI B 24 08 08 December 2008 Automatic Transmission Technical Service https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/at...8;d=1458839525 This SIB instructs dealers to reprogram the EGS module (or EGS and CAS) for this specific clunk. Many dealers have sent owners back that this is normal! There is no cure for this!! |
