Cool in the face but warm on feet & windshield

Ok bruther's...I have a 2011 5.0 Sav

I want cool air in my face and warm air on feet/windshield.

Problem is: when I manually select cool air to face is seems to cancel out the warm air to the feet/windshield.

Its my first "magic" sav, only familiar w/ caveman days of manual adjustment mid dash for the cool air to the face while having heat to windshield and feet...like on 97-03 e39's.

I just cannot figure out the sequence to have the windshield and feet independent of the face/upper body.

To my knowledge, I don't believe this is possible....Its a dual zone system, one temperature for the driver, one for the front passenger.

You might be right, if that's true, I say " we'll thats just BullllShhhit"!

The closest I've come is to set up driver side for heat then use pax side upper body for cool and direct it towards me, though, that only works when you don't have a passenger.

Pressing the lower left button of the A/C controls takes you to the iDrive screen to adjust airflow and center vent temp. Spin the iDrive knob to adjust the temp after pressing the button. Note multiple presses of the button cycles thru the vent combinations.

EDIT: Added picture of the button to press.

I agree with all of that, but say that:

1.) I cycle thru and select hot temp for windshield and footwell with high fan speed, and I can feel the air hot air in footwell, and windshield.

2.) When I use the same process to then select just upper body to a cool air, I get cool air to the upper body and the hot air at footwell and windshield stops.

Try yours and see what ya get.

Have you adjusted the temp to full warm (clockwise)? See page 118 of the owners manual.

Yep, yep, yep...done all of that. adjusted one click below full warm for the one and one click above full cold for the other.

I just cannot get... 2 different temperatures out of 2 of the three zones at the same time...can you?

By the way Richard, your illustration pics are impressive ...and I appreciate you trying to help.
