Keyless and engine start failure

Since I bought my 2010 X6M a year ago, the keyless entry system fails 80% of the time, I have changed the battery at least 4 times in a year and still fails, usually the car does not recognize the key so I have to insert the key in order to start the engine......
I heard somewhere that is a frequency issue, that the cellular towers near the car have something to do with it, some interference BS....... and that the only way to solve this is a full hardware change, that means new antena, new keys, new door locks etc etc...that sounds expensive and my car is out of warranty.
Anyone is experiencing this issues ?

it happen every time when my key and iphone 4 in the same pocket, after switch to Blackberry (Iphone 4 sold) issue is gone =)

I have a 2012 X6M with the keyless access and start feature. I also have an iPhone 4s Nd have not experienced the issue. I typically have them in separate pockets, though.

I do use my iPhone 4 on a leather case on my left side, and the car key always on my right pocket, I'm not sure the iPhone has something to do with it...........I will keep you posted as soon as my dealer replies to me

Samsung Focus Windows phone. Never had an issue with the keyless not working, both for the doors and the starting of the engine. I have had my car since December 24th, 2009. I refuse to spend any money on Apple products.

With the iPhone and key in same pocket, normally with iPhone in front of key - I can't unlock my door reliably. But the car always starts. Always.

iPhone 4 here
Phone in left, key in right = 100% works
phone and key in the same pocket = 50% lock/unlock, 70-80% start
In other words, when phone and fob together, it takes a bit more tries, clicks, but still works
