Tips for Canadian / Toronto buyers?
The lease on my 330i is coming to an end and I think I'm going to go with the X5 diesel. It's been quite difficult to track down reliable information on the kind of deals people are getting in Toronto. Lots of 3-series information around, but not much on the Xs.
Anyone have any recent experience buying or leasing from any of the GTA dealers? BMW Toronto is my nearest dealer, but I'll go anywhere in the GTA. I'm looking at the following config: 2010 X5 diesel I'm leaning towards Monaco / Saddle / Bamboo My "must-have" options are: Comfort package Tech package Premium sound package I'd love the active / ventilated seats, but I'm guessing they still won't be an option in Canada, even for 2010. Thanks!

Quick update on this. Actually going with the following specs:
Monaco / Tobacco / Bamboo Tech Premium Executive (new package for Canada, which includes rear climate / heated seats, sunshades, comfort seats, comfort access) Premium Sound Dealer indicated that 2% was realistic, without any negotiating on my part, so I'm guessing I'll be able to get 3-4% off MSRP. Hoping I can also get them to waive the admin fee. Other option is a 535xiT, which has better lease rates and a $3k incentive plus dealer discount.

Rule of thumb is a 8-10% markup on most makes. Know what the program offers/cash incentives are and take them into account. Based on your options, you are sitting around 76,700. I figure cost to be around 70k. If you offered 72-73k, that should be a good reasonable deal.

You CAN get ventilated seats on an X6M, but you also have to order the comfort seats, too (thus losing the M seats). It is special order, and costs an arm and a leg.
Invoice on an X6M is $90,810. Invoice on Exec pkg - $5005.00 Here is an excerpt from the email that I received: _________________________________________________ Ventilated Seats, Manual Side Sunshades and Piano Black Trim can be special ordered on X6 M. Please see below wholesale costs and restrictions. Ventilated Seats. WS $1,425. Must be ordered with Comfort Seats. Hence, the vehicle will not have M Seats. Comfort Seats to be special ordered separately. See below for the cost. Ventilated Seats with Full Merino Leather are available in three colours: Black, Silverstone and Bamboo Beige. Comfort Seats. WS $665 Manual Side Sunshades: $300 Piano Black Trim: $715 Please also add $400 special order fee. Regards, John __________________________________________________ Hope this helps.

The dealer has 9% plus in the car. Offer him msrp less 7% and you should be able to make a deal. If he won't take it, shop to a few dealers and I'm sure you will come up with the deal you are looking for.
