ticking noise after VANOS assembly bolts replacement service

Hi all,

I just got back my BMW x5 35i (2011) after a VANOS assembly bolts recall service.

Its started to make a ticking noise, which can be heard at idle in the driver cabin. Is this normal? Because I don't remember it making this noise before the service!

What should I do? Did they screw up the job? Or is this how it was always supposed to sound?

Got service done @ BMW Canbec.

It sounds similar to this:

Just got mine back this afternoon from having the VANOS procedure done. Car drives great. No ticking noises.
