Hey so im in tx, 90*f + heat here. The iats on my x5 with s2 doesn't seem to go up too much over ambient. My 335i is worse. Unless u r tracking the car, it will be fine. Monitor it for a.few days. Ull mostly see increase in higher gears pushing hard. But nothing substantial

yea for for all that are on s1, daily drivability dramatically changes in s2, load and timing are higher I believe so throttle response and the whole car feels so much more eager to accelerate. feels like it lost a ton of weight. not talking about flooring it, just normal driving around is alot more welcoming.

Here's a log of latest s2. I switched back from s2+ because I feel like this map is smoother because I get less timing corrections. Maybe heat is causing it. Or a bit of e85 may help with s2+.
heres a s2 log, only drove 30 miles since full reset so still adapting https://datazap.me/u/racermp/e70-mhd...&data=4-5-9-19 |

So you running stock vehicle with the s2 tune and your only hitting 1420 deg egt's in 3rd? Is this the highest you've seen the egt's get? Your iat shows it was at 113 deg. I'm probably like most on here that are interested in running the s2 tune without changing the downpipe. I don't throttle flog my X5, but I do like having the power on tap when I want it. The s1+ tune seems jumpy and not smooth when taking off. Much like a light switch. I do occasionally pull an enclosed trailer and that's where my real concern comes in. Pulling a trailer with pretty much an tune will really increase the egt's because the vehicle is under load most of the time. Thanks for the info. I came from diesels and as long as you kept the egt's under 1500-1600 deg, everything was fine. Things tend to melt above 1600 at longer periods of time. This is just my 2 cents worth. I like the power of the s1+, I just would like it to come on smoother. |

I do still feel what you mean in the + maps. Maybe because of higher boost. I like the stage 2 so far. It feels a bit more refined than the stage 2+. Just for daily driving wise. Yea I'm stock and the highest I see is 1400. I was stock E30 on my 335i n55 and stock x5 n55. Both don't go over 1400s. This log was after quite a few runs and 90*f outside temps. The x5 intercooler does better than the 335i because it's slightly bigger I see lower temps on this x5. One big thing you will notice between stage 0, 1 and 2 is the increase in throttle response. I haven't compared the load and timing but I feel like the higher stage you go, the notes aggressive the timing and load is. So the car feels more nimble and more normal Lol. I was sick of the bloaty feel the engine response gave on stock maps. Stage 2 feels really good for daily driving Last edited by racermp; 10-17-2017 at 08:21 PM.. |

Maybe I can chime in here.
2013 x5 N55 completed bench tune, mhd stage 1+ , vrsf DP. Going on 2 months now. Super smooth power delivery, better efficiency, awesome turbo sounds, no more lag, faster and better than stock Cons. Exhaust smell at lights and traffic if wind is blowing towards you. Goes away with windows closed. Can be annoying. Pretty sure im just getting used to it now. Considering flashing to stage 2. |
