Self leveling Question/ Rear links

Just lowered the 2011 M sport with H&R 1.2 front and adj links in the rear. I removed the original links and shortened the H&R links and the rear still has not came down. I started the X5 and even drove it around the block and still nothing. Question, i have the adaptive drive and i thought it had self leveling but now i wonder since there are rear springs instead of air bags. The rear shocks do have wires/lines going to them so i thought that was the self leveling system. Shouldn't the rear have an airbag instead of the spring? Thank you.

For the lowering links to work you need the air bags.

Damn, that is what i thought. What are the oem rear stock links for if there are no air bags? Oh well, i better go and buy another H&R kit with rear springs.

That is strange you have links with springs? I have never seen under one with springs but I can't think of what function the links would perform.

Rear links with no Airbags

Here you go guys. You can barely see the rear coil spring in the one picture and here is the rear link that i spoke of. I have the rear coil springs out and waiting for my H&R rear spring kit to get here.

I should have looked under mine to see if I had links despite not having air suspension.

When i bought the X5 M sport i did look underneath and seen the rear links so i assumed that it had the air suspension. Well, the rear is lowered now with the springs and the ride is pretty damn good. Very happy with the 1.2 H&R kit. Will post some pictures when i get the clear front reflectors on.
