Equalizer settings on premium sound

Hi,

I have just picked up a 2011 X6 50i, and have been fiddling with the equalizer and tone controls.

Has anyone settled on some good settings that they could share please? Both for the equalizer and the tone controls?

Even better, has anyone measured it or had it professional dialled in?

I have found a thread with some settings for a 5 series but the X6 will obviously sound a bit different.

Many thanks!

Curious about this too! My SA apparently played piano professinally for several years so he set it, but not sure if its at optimum settings.

I would love to see what settings people have.

If you think you have a pretty neat setup please post a pic!

Actually the ones you posted are different to the post I was thinking about - apologies. Is this a 5 sedan still? Would you mind posting the link?

There will be some differences though if it is from a sedan:

The system itself might actually be different (even though specs are the same)
The speaker placement is different
The car's interior would be different acoustically

This is what I've been using. Not bad but still interested if someone has better ones.

Treble +3 (or +4)
Bass +1
Surround off!!!

100Hz 0
200Hz -1
500Hz 0
1KHz +2
2KHz +1
5KHz +3
10KHz +4

This system is bassy already so no need to boost too much.

I couldn't find those settings on that thread but that could be me....

I've been fiddling and reading up on frequencies. This page is great.

http://www.dplay.com/tutorial/bands/index.html

... and am now using this. It might look weird with the low bass but it sounds much closer to my high end headphones.

Try it for a day.

Treble +5 (or +4)
Bass 0 (or +1 for some albums)
Surround off

100Hz -2
200Hz -3
500Hz 0
1KHz +2
2KHz +1
5KHz +2
10KHz +3

I know this looks bass light, but 200Hz is actually the low end of the human voice and it's where a lot of muffled congestion arises in this system in my view. It's tuned really bass heavy to start with.

I've spent a lot of time with this and no doubt will fiddle more, but this is working for me.

Let me know how anyone goes if you try it.

Cheers

S

I tried this last night, and found it to be pretty good, but I changed the bass to +1, and it made a huge difference. I cranked Sober by Tool, and it was killer.
