Wow that is very impressive actually insane is a better word. I wonder what the M5 will be capable of. I think the RWD configuration will create wheel spin meaning slower acceleration up to a certain point. Can't wait to see a tuned M5.

Truly stunned
Incredible...slowly the GT-R is loosing its mystique...First a Camaro comes within 20 seconds of a 2012 GT-R's Ring time...now an X5M with software tune is able to come with 8/10ths of a second of its 1/4 mile time. Its a great era we live in

The Renntech guys are doing awesome stuff with the X5M and I can't wait to see what they can do with down pipes, exhaust, intercooler, etc. It should be fun to watch. Everything these guys do to push the envelope moves down to make the less aggressive tunes and bolt ons better. I know that I will be watching with a keen interest. |

That's pretty awesome. A modded X5M is a beast.
Glad to see RENNtech is getting into BMW tuning. I'm not sure how the new M5 will do b/c as is with the current M5, traction is its issue. RWD and AWD are totally different, especially with regard to putting their power to the ground. You must be new to cars. 20 seconds on the Nurburgring isn't even close. 8/10's of a second, like Brian said is an eternity in drag racing. Plus, that GT-R only had a tune and midpipe as well (the PS2's don't make much of a difference either). |

Sick sick ride. Getting Dinan for mine for now(warrantied) until all the recall issues are almost over. It's at the dealership now getting waterpump changed and microfilter. Akra exhaust for sure after winter. Hitting the dragstrip next week. Hope they are done by then. That 11 sec video is sick. Love the car.

Can't wait to see some of the power options available once they start adding new turbos plus a tune.

I am curious to see the step by step progression. Plus, I think they will learn about how the motor responds to each change. If they go straight to the big turbo and big exhaust, they will be changing too many variables at once. But, hell yeah, I want to see it fully done. This should all translate pretty well to all of the 4.4 TT motors. As the owner of a X5 50i, I will be keeping an eye on them. |

I agree with the x5m being an amazing vehicle being an owner of both the x5m with ess software and an m3 I find myself loving the x5m 10x better than the m3.

LOL!...no not new to cars...I've been collecting car magazines since the early 80s. I still have a lot of them. 20 seconds for a Porshce would be terrible...but even up to a year ago it would have been perverse to think a Camaro could come within minutes of a GT-R much less 20 seconds. So let's put this in perspective. |
