Need Some reassurance
I am driving a loaner at the moment, waiting for the X6 to turn up
It's an X5 sport with 19" rims. I am experiencing awfull ride on the 19" rims on "B" roads in the UK. Bounce and rock and roll is making me sick It rolls around like a drunk, is MY X6 going to do the SAMEI don't recall the X6 being at all like this. I drove one a while ago now and the demos are all sold so can't get back in to check. You feedback please guys. |

I agree with you on the ride. The X6 its not even close to that! The X6 has much greater comfort than the x5! Now i got 20" with run flat and its way better than the X5 with 19" and standard tires!

I have not driven an X5 and X6 back to back. But as I recall the X6 seems better overall but my memory of the X5 has it handling quite well.

Thanks guys, the X5 sport I am borrowing has the 19" wheels, could be those that make the ride bouncey and rolling a bit on bendy poor roads.

I have 20" Y spokes (214) on my 35i - very solid and a real 'planted' feel. There is no body roll on the X6 at all - I know the UK 'B' roads very well and can tell you that you will definitely feel the occasional skip over a pothole, speed bump or a poorly fitted drain cover due to the stiffness of the suspension, but will not have any problem with roll or wallowing regardless of how poor the surface. I wish there were a few good British 'B' roads around here to enjoy it on actually! Enjoy it when it arrives!
Cheers, Anteater. |

My 50i X6 has 259 20" and sport, seems to ride nice to me. Now if I hit speed bumps hard I feel it but cruising down the highway is very smooth. Last edited by dmlgc; 09-05-2008 at 08:06 PM.. |

If you need some cheering up while waiting for your X6 just go watch the Fifth Gear video. One of the more interesting ( and entertaining) reviews .
