Gosh- Dealer overfilled engine oil

Went to Bill Jacobs & truck felt weird after that... (diesel was more noisy at low RPMs and seemed sluggish) .. 15 days later I check oil level and BAMM its yellow and overfilled ... I call dealership and SA's giving me the oil level sensor bs... I hope this isn't as serious but wasn;t this the easiest things to do ???

What a crock. Don't put up with that BS. I'm always concerned about this. I now use Bimmer Werkshop on Montrose & 90 (oil/filter change= $70). They're true enthusiasts.

Did you measure with dipstick? What did it say?

Is it constantly reading 1qt or did it show up and disappeared. If it still shows consistently high, just pull in the service bay, keep the car running and then show them. They will take care of it.

Get it drained out a bit. Have extra oil on hand in case you take out too much

we took it in, they drained a Qrt & also ordered oil level sensor to replace, its under warranty so I dont care but I think SA's trying to save his ***, it was clearly human error

I don't think Don is trying to save his ass. The SA did not do the work, the techs did. It is not uncommon for these cars and their somewhat temperamental sensors to read high or low on a random reading. The good thing is they addressed it.

well IDK what exactly happened but the dipstick read a Qrt over is what he told me
