Transmission jumping when coming to a stop
Dopped off my '12 X5 3.5 for it's first service(14k) on Monday(9/24). By Wednesday, I noticed that as I was coming to a stop, the transmission would bang or jolt into 1st gear. Took it back to the dealer and it's been there ever since. BMW of Monrovia don't have answers for me. They said they're reprogramming the software. Today, they said it's still doing it, but much softer(?) So I told them to keep it until Monday. Has anyone else had this problem? Maybe I can shed some light on their techs. I have a feeling this job might be over their heads. Thanks.

My x5 has something similar, after engaging park, then parking brake, once I hit the engine off, the vehicle would jerk forward. |

My X5M jerks at take off if im not giving it enough gas especially in first. Ive also noticed the jerking when coming to a stop. Of course its already one thing after another with these things. Might just be bmw engineering.

Yep my '12 x5d does the same thing too, jerks forward when turning engine off, (parking brake on). Tranny downshifts when coming to a stop, but i don't get any jolts. Hope you get this figured out!

I should have added, my x5 is a 2007 3.0 and originally I had an issue where the parking brake locked up and popped up a "parking brake malfunction" error on screen. Car was stuck in the parking lot and had to get it towed because even manual release wouldn't release it. Turned out that it needed to flash to the latest software to fix the known parking brake issue. After the software flash I started getting this small jerk forward when turning off the car. Feels as if the parking brake isn't fully engaged until you hit the off button.
