2011 x6 3.5i dual exhaust?

Since i just got this car, i havent noticed that only one exhaust truly functions as an exhaust. The other (passenger side) does not. Is this factory regulated? Is it normal? I actually thought i purchased a vehicle with dual not single exhaust and frankly im dissapointed. Maybe i should take it in so they can look at it... Please let know what you know.

Really? Are you saying that the passenger side exhaust is pure cosmetic?

I never noticed since I am always sitting in the car when engine starts. I will take a look later today. I doubt they would disable dual exhaust for environmental reasons though... Lots of cars out there have functional dual exhausts.

If you search the forum you will find a thread on this, on the 3.5i there is a flap that has a control on it so it is by design. several people have experiment with using a golf tee to plug the hose but it didn't increase power but did give a different noise.
