Service Action: Program Control Units (DMTL)
MODEL E70 and E71 vehicles with N55 engines produced from 7/12/2010 to 11/20/2010 SITUATION The following fault code memory entry may be stored in the Digital Engine Electronics (DME): 3227: DMTL leak diagnosis pump, activation: Line disconnection The Service Engine Soon lamp (MIL) is activated if the error is present in 2 consecutive driving cycles; however, the emissions have not been adversely affected. CAUSE DME software error AFFECTED VEHICLES This Service Action involves E70 and E71 vehicles with N55 engines produced from 7/12/2010 to 11/20/2010. In order to determine whether a specific vehicle has had this Service Action completed or is affected by this Service Action, first check the B-pillar label for code number 590. If code number 590 has been punched out, the campaign has already been performed. If code number 590 has not been punched out, it will be necessary to utilize the "Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or the Key Reader. Based on the response of the system, either proceed with the corrective action or take no further action. PROCEDURE Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.40.3 or later. Vehicle integration (new): E070-10-12-503 or later. Just a little something for those who have this happening... I went to the dealership and they reprogramed my SAV in about 4-5 hours... No more CEL's.
