Front calipers housings alone are about $1,000 each from a dealer.

If I was in a hurry I would have been mad but I have had them for months now and they still aren't on so I wasn't in a panic, the rears came way before the fronts in my case, that's why they are on and the fronts aren't.

Everything is dirty it's been snowing pretty much all week.

Very nice! Those dimples are hot! Any noise from them? What pads are you running?

I have posi-quiet pads, I would have to look at the box to see who makes them. I do have some squeaking but I think it's from my worn front brakes. When I get everything on I will know for sure.
I think the dimples look pretty sweet from a distance.

Some people report a popping sound from the dimples and vibration in the pedal from the air compressing in the dimples as the pad passes over them during braking. Anything like that? I have the posi quiet pads coming with my AR package as well.

Can anyone confirm the year when they (colored calipers with m on them) started to come standard on X5Ms?

No nothing like that, I might get the fronts on this week if the shop has time. I should have done it myself since I had some free time this past week.

It was 2013 they started coming blue.

ordered the blue calipers from BMW? why? they are exactly the same as the ones you already have on your vehicle, except they are blue. You can paint the ones you already own for a 10th the cost of buying their blue ones.

and they didn't start putting those on until 2013, so 2010-2012 would be candidates for them.

I will sell you my front brakes if you want to send yours away for powder coating with no down time. I should have them off and ready to sell next Monday. A Local deal would be nice due to the weight. I have had a few local tire kickers but no commitments yet.

Monte Carlo Blue is what I went with - not sure if that's the color BMW uses for the calipers, but it looks damn good. Instructions on how I acquired the M stickers are in the thread somewhere.

For info on the availability of the stickers, and to order, send an email inquiry to sales@grafixpressions.com. For obvious reasons, they aren't listed on the website. The stickers cost more than those available on ebay, but all the ebay sellers are from outside the country, and who knows what you are getting if you actually get them. The ones from grafixpressions are made in the USA, are specifically designed for use on calipers, so they can handle the heat and won't peel off. They can also be customized however you want, including size and color. I ordered them yesterday, and they made them and shipped them out the same day!

Found it.. Thanks!!!

Sorry I don't have better pics, I will maybe try to get a camera instead of phone pics. I just bedded them in a couple hours ago they seemed to make a bit of a whirring sound (not very loud and not annoying just different) when braking hard from 120km/hr to 20km/hr under normal driving I haven't noticed any noise. I will do some more town driving today and see if I hear anything.
