Bluetooth Cel Phone Contacts X6

I configured my Blackberry 8320 phone with my X6, works well, but can only see my partial contacts. All my contacts are in the phone, not in the sim.
The BMW shop here told me that if my contact size is too big, the X6 might not have enough space to store all the numbers.

Have any of you had this problem? I have 1270 contacts.

Curious to know if any X6 owners are using a Blackberry 8230 and able to see all their contacts in the car.

Thanks,
George

1270 contacts is excessive and a waste of resources. I am not surprised you are having syncing issues and I bet the blackberry is dog slow as well.

I would only keep contacts of those you call frequently. I bet you have not even spoken to over 1,000 of those contacts in a long time.

I have a friend that was in the same issue. Obessive contact disorder. Felt the need to store contact information for every call he made or received. After he had every restaurant pizza joint in town loaded, he ran out of memory and ultimately deleted all the uncessary ones.

I have an 8820 with around 200 contact entries and it syncs up just fine. I remember reading somewhere that there is a limit to the number of entries in the address book however - but don't recall how many that is.

I have over 3,000 contacts in my blackberry and have the same problem. Probably about 1/2 of them show up. Funny because some people's cell only shows up and some work only show up. I don't really care because I usually find the person in my contacts in my BB and then hit send and talk thru speakers.

It worked, I deleted contacts, now I have about 650 and now I can see all my contacts on the X6 screen. Thanks.

But you have to wonder, why they didn't just put more memory, after all, today memory is not expensive.

I agree. Next version will probably have more memory with the built in hard drive.

Bean counters. BMW builds over 1 million cars per year. I would guess that around 300,000-500,000 have iDrive installed.

Adding extra memory would most likely cost them $2-3 million. The bean counters look everywhere to keep costs down.

I guess it is too much trouble to ask the customer if they would like buy more memory, disc space, etc.
