I don't believe they all come with a spare tire, and I don't believe any come with a spare battery. The only battery is just located in the rear.

Since the vehicles come with run-flats, spare tires are an additional option when ordering, or you can buy a spare tire kit through the dealer after-the-fact (but more $$).

Mine didn't come with spare tires, as dreamalaska said - run-flat tires need no spares.
I've never heard of any spare batteries. It would be nice if there is a spare battery, but that will be unrealistic. Having a spare battery for months - unplugged - is going to keep it empty anyways... |

thanks everyone,
the only reason i ask is because the BMTroubleU guy seems to suggest that in his video: UPDATE: ====== his video is of an X5, and apparently their battery is in the trunk? but in his commentary he's always saying X5 or X6 interchangeably so i thought it was a spare since my battery is under the hood in the front. but i could have sworn i've seen X5 also has battery under hood?... or is the video of another type of battery and not the main one that starts the car?... I think all BMW's have their battery in the trunk. It's there to help with weight distribution.

i just found out the same. shows how much i know about cars, and i guess i should read the manual sometime.. i assumed that just because there are terminals under the hood, the actual battery is located there as well. i had no idea that those terminals are wired all the way to the back of the car. |

Yea, they put those terminals there for convenience.
The spare is a $150 option and a great idea when ordering since it allows you to change out the run-flats if you like. As noted, a LOT more expensive to add after the fact. It was however embarrassing when the BMW delivery specialist (at the Performance Center Delivery in SC) said "Oh, you have a spare! I've never seen one of those. That must mean your car did not come with run-flats." Sigh....
