My new X6M after Zaino treatment

Here's some pics of the new motor. It was unfortunately after a 40 mile journey to work, so there is a little bit of muck on the car. I started using zaino about 10 years ago, and recently had drifted away to try other things, but I'm so glad I've come back - it's awesome!

Also, some idiot had thrown an egg at my house window last night, and I didn't realise until lunchtime today that some of it had landed on the bonnet of the freshly zaino'd car

When I left for work this morning, the car was frozen over so I didn't see it. I noticed it when I went to refuel at lunchtime today, and amazingly, with some water and a wash mitt, it was fine! I'd heard some horror stories about eggs and car paint, so I was dreading the worst.

Back to the pics...

Almost 4 years after selling the one above, I've finally got a replacement which is very similar

Now awaiting a Zaino delivery so I can get to work - this is just a Dawn wash and Z6

I've also been using Zanio for about 8-9 years.. great product but not easy to get unless you are in the States. Easy to use and shiny as hell

It's by far the best product I've ever used...It's a long process between using the clay bar and multiple steps in different Zaino bottles, but the end result will leave your jaw wide open...theres a pretty good video on youtube that gives a nice step by step process on how to get the maximum shine out of your paint...look up E39 M5 Zaino on youtube

The best part is not going to a carwash anymore..I usually just use Z6 or Z7 every couple of days and the truck looks like it just came out of the showroom. I have a years worth of Zaino...I'll send you some

I started using Zaino in 2002, but have moved on to other brands. I still use their leather cleaner / conditioner, but think hear Zaino is just rebranded Duragloss. The thing I liked about Zaino is its easy to use (and smells good).

Wow, Zaino... talk about a blast from the past! Used it in the late 90, early 2000s but quickly moved onto better, easier to use detailing products. Nonetheless, the X6M looks very nice.

Interesting - I'd tried others but ended up coming back to Zaino and wishing I'd never left.

What do you suggest is better and easier to use?

People always told me that you need to find a good combo, love it, and stick with it. And I've done exactly that. Of all the products I've used, I really enjoy using Menzerna Power Lock for a sealant. If I am feeling wild, I'll top it with one of my Swissvax waxes (I have the entire line up of Insignis). I have many other waxes, and even more sealants but I have completely stopped using them.

Just an update on this. The water in Malta is full of minerals - so leaving the car to dry is not an option as it leaves lots of water marks.

However drying leaves fine scratches, which is a PITA.

So I bought a DI filter - only tried it once so far but its brilliant. Will post more pics once I get the process properly started - not even clay bar'd yet.

Thread dig.

We have a similar problem here with the water (will never buy another black car...).

Do you have any more info on the filter you chose?

Look into CR Spotless. I've used it before and it's magical. YOu can wash the car, rinse it, and walk away. Zero spots. And I used in a part of Texas where the water was VERY hard.

Thanks for the tip on CR - water very hard in SoCal.

I have been using Klasse wax and sealer for years with great results. Typically 3 coats of wax and 2 coats of sealer. Sometimes top off with Sovereign.

In fact, working first coat of sealer tonight.
