Talking 2010 BMW X6 xDrive35i - Ordered!

Long time listener, first time caller.
I just ordered my X6 yesterday. Needless to say I am hyped. I ordered with the following options:
2010 BMW X6 xDrive 35i
Space Grey - Exterior
Black Nevada - Interior
Flywheel Black Aluminum Trim - Interior
ZJP - Premium Package
ZFE - Sport Package
ZFT - Premium Sound Package
ZUN - Dynamic Handling Package
610 - Head's Up Display (HUD)

The dealer said it should be here sometime in March. I will mos def post some pics when it arrives. Sadly I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. So it will be a shiet storm of slush and rocks here when I get my X6.Alas that's why I'm getting the X6 cause I want something with SUV ride height but not to sacrifice (too much) the handling of a sedan.

Congrats to you as well Vistacruiser. Only time will tell if we will be satisfied with our purchase. So please post again after receiving your X6.

XBMW6 I just had a look over your post. I did not wait for the 2011 because the interest rate to finance would have been to great. Well for my wallet anyways. ...but those do look like tasty upgrades. I wonder if the price would take a hit too? Thanks for the informative post, I hope it helps a lot of other people about to buy a 2010.

Agreed. In Edmonton we have 5-month long winters. Ranging from -5C to about -36C. We were the coldest place on earth for about 1 hour in Dec, 2009. We reached -46C not including windchill. I am happy to report that my 2008 BMW X3 3.0si had no problems starting that night and it was parked on a slanted driveway. What really sucks though, is that in those 5 months we get the hugest ruts. I am talking about scraping the bottom of your car with solid ice ruts. So I was happy with the X3.

Before the X3 I had a 2004 BMW 740i and Edmonton raped that beautiful beast.

As for the X3. I was t-boned on Jan. 12, 2010. X3 was a write-off. $37G CDN was the quote. Since my car was only 14-months old and I had opted for the SEF43R (that's AMA Insurance talk for "Waives depreciation on replacement resulting from an insured peril within 30 months of the date on which the vehicle was first delivered to you."), they paid me out $69G CDN. Which was quite awesome.

Now I have a 2010 X6 on it's way. I think that accident was a blessing. Kinda.

Thank you for the welcoming words, dmlgc.

I have now reached the second step on my journey to an X6.
Delivery is supposed to be in week 19 at the latest.
The weeks are really piling up when you order from another continent ;-)

It is quite interesting to learn that the versions and packages is different in other regions.
I see that there are no 30d's available in Australia, but X6M is.

No diesels whatsoever in US except for X5. (Yes, I have read the post about "truck sound" ;-(

UPDATE:

Well the dealer called me today to inform me of a problem with my 2010 X6 order. He said that BMW Carolina is experiencing a shortage of Head's Up Displays from there supplier. So I had to make a chocie. Continue the 2010 order without the HUD or wait till April to order a 2011 with a hud. So I am going to wait for the 2011 production in April and he said I "should" get it in May. Anyone else have this problem?

Nice move! In addition to you getting the HUD you want, the 2011 35i will have the new twin-scroll single turbo engine (N55) and the new 8-speed transmission.

I agree...a few months wait is worth it for those additional standard features. Plus, you'll get your desired option HUD.

UPDATE 2:

So now that I have this huge amount of time to think about my X6 order. (see above) I am kinda torn about which model. So here in Canada the X6 pricing is kinda like this (with options that I chose):
xDrive 35i: 85g CDN
xDrive 50i: 95g CDN
X6 M: 110g CDN

Soooooo....I was gonna order the xDrive 35i but for just 10 more grand I can get V8 Twin-Turbo + Soft Close Doors + Active Seat + Ventilated Seat. I just wish I could afford the M.

What do you guys think? Is the extra 10g worth the upgrades?

Hmmmm...not you have me thinking about X6 50i order..pushed out to March 10 with the HUD. Wonder if I should wait for the 2011? Ref. your question about the 50i vs 35i, DEFINATELY go for the 50i....engine is much smoother..more powerful, has a GREAT rumble sound (exhaust) versus the 35i! Did your dealer protect your price on the 2011? I hear there is no increse in base price on the 2011 vs 2010..just a few changes in the packages (by the way they, for 2011, the heated rear seats are gone). The HUD is combined with an increased driver assistance package.

I don't think I can protect the price. As I ordered the 2010 X6 xDrive35i and I now have changed that to a 2011 X6 xDrive50i. So the price will mos def change. Up here in Canada we have diff packages than USA. Check www.bmw.ca to see what I mean. We do not have Driver Assist Package. Cold Weather package comes on the base models here. As we have really cold ass winters. I will be sad if rear heated seats are gone. i don't know why they would be deleted. Maybe a Canada only thing? I def need the HUD. It looks sooo wicked.

Ah...the Canadian coooool winters! Maybe they will keep the Cold Weather package with rear heated seats for Canada packages..but here is the write up on 2011 pricing. The base price of the car will not change from curren 2010 prices (just increased Jan. 1). The technology package adds the side view camera (new) and increases to $2,500 for the 35i; for the 50i the side view camera is added to the top view camera option and increases to $1,200 from $600. In the USA, the technology package is included in the base price of the 50i. (hence the difference in the options package adding the side camera). The Cold Weather package on both drops $300 to $900 (from $1,200) by removing the ski bag and removing rear heated seats. Both also offer the new lane departure warning and Active Cruise Control option.

News from BWM:

The BMW X6 enters MY2011 with both increased efficiency and performance facilitated by the addition of an 8-speed automatic transmission and Brake Energy Regeneration. The result is that X6 xDrive35i accelerates from 0-60 mph in 6.3 seconds (reduced by 0.2 seconds) while the X6 xDrive50i gets to 60mph in 5.2 seconds (reduced by 0.1 seconds). I sure hope the HUD parts come in soon..and they can pull in my March 10 build!!!!

Can't wait!

Option changes include the addition of Lane Departure Warning and Active Cruise Control as stand-alone options for $950 and $2,400 respectively. Side View Cameras were added to Technology Package of the X6 xDrive35i making the new package price $2,500 and increasing functionality. The new Camera package for the X6 xDrive50i now offers both Side View and Top View for a retail price of $1,200. Finally, the Cold Weather Package is now $900 (reduced by $350) due to the deletion of the ski bag and heated rear seats.
