X5M LED Angel Eye Upgrade
Just picked up a used 2012 X5M as a mountain car for the winters here in Colorado. From day one I couldn't stand the OEM angel eyes color, damn you BMW for being late to the LED game, so I searched around for something to replace them and found that there are a few options to choose from. Decided to try out the Hellst XRT V5 bulbs from Ross at BimmerEyes, couldn't be happier. Inner rings are definitely brighter, but there's decent lighting making it to the outer rings. Also slapped on a black grill and some 20" BBS SV winter wheels; IMO that's all the car needed. We all know that needs quickly lead to wants, so there might be a tune coming in the spring

Would you consider doing the full LED headlight upgrade (from the 2013 models)? Lots of X5M guys on here have done it, so lots of people to lean on for retrofit help.
LED bulbs in the halogen corona housing is not really an upgrade IMO. I'm with you on the stock lights, they look awful and outdated, but the un-even light distribution with the LED bulbs leaves a lot to be desired. |

The full LED upgrade does look awesome, but it's hard to stomach the price of those replacement headlight housings. Plan is to wait a couple years and then rotate the winter car out again for a newer body style, either another X5M or back to a CTT.
Those lights works so well with the blue on your M. |

They snubbed the X5M on the LCI. Another good question is why no S63tu when that came out for the M5 back in 2011...they waited until the F85 to give it the goods.
