2007 E70 Satellite Radio

so i'm thinking I would like to add the sat radio to my X5 .... my E70 came with the S693 option although not exactly sure what that means "prep for satellite radio"....I guess that means the sharkfin antenna is there and the cables to hook up the unit....my question is where does the unit live and are there wires already there that I just plug into the unit and then get coded for the car and it starts working???????????

thank you!!!

E70 Sirius Satellite Retrofit

Attached is a PDF of the installation instructions. If you have the S693 option, your vehicle is prewired with the antenna in the FIN and the power/Fiber cabling in the bin behind the driver side panel in the rear of the vehicle. Look for a velcro wrapped wire bundle below where the existing components are mounted.

You will need to have MOST Fiber re-wiring done (explained in the attached DOC) it can be DIY. The coding is the tricky and very expensive part.

I found a module on EBAY.

My issue is with the MOST fiber connectors. there is an active and inactive block and you are supposed to move the fibers into a specific order.

Question to the Forum - What if my active block is full? Do I overflow to the inactive block to complete the loop?
