Interior Swap anyone??
Ok, so I live damn near in Miami, its hot as hell, and I have all black leather... I would really like to swap it for something lighter... Also, the all black doesn't really do it for me aesthetically. Anyone here wish they had all black and interested in swapping? My X5 has standard sport seats, heated front and rear. Ideally, I swap for Silverstone, but I'd entertain other colors as well... I'd just love to get rid of the black. I gave the full interior a Leatherique treatment this past summer (late August), it'll get done again this summer. Condition is excellent, with very little wear. The truck has 50K miles on it... The swap would be for the front/rear seats, door panels, and center armrest. I would like to do this with a vehicle that has the same options so neither party loses any features or options. I've done this in two cars already now, most recently completing the swap in my M3... Some pics of my work are below. I shipped the interior for the M3 to Denver, and the other guy shipped his interior back to me. It worked well, but it is a lot of effort boxing it all up... Let me know if anyone is interested!! Thanks.. My 2003 E46 330i Dinan3 ZHP And just a month ago, I swapped my M3 from all black to Bamboo beige...

Shoot, I just checked my build sheet, my X5M has Merino leather... I guess that rules out Nappa, and definitely Nevada!

Oops, sorry, I didn't notice you had a X5M. Leather on M's were all different than the standard cars. On non-M E70s there were only two choices: Nevada and Nappa On M's I believe there were Merino and possibly Novillo They're all different quality leathers and unique colors. Just want to make sure you're getting something comparable in return if that matters. I remember on the E9X M3s, lots of non M E9X cars with Corral Red interior was trying to trade with M3 owners, and I've countlessly told M3 owners that the leather quality are not the same between M cand non-M cars. For some people who wants a unique color not available to their cars, it may not matter. i don't think you should rule out Nappa, it's pretty good and smooth as Merino. If you do, your only supply of people who'll trade with you is widdled down to X5M owners only. If you open yourself up to Nappa, all E70 nappa interiors are available for trade.

Jon…I'd be willing to take a lessor grade leather if you can get into some multi-contour seats
If sticking w/ the same leather, I guess it's Bamboo or Silverstone. |

Seriously, I would shoot for the active seats, but I'm thinking the coding will be extensive. I'm happy with the regular sport seats that I have now, just would prefer a different color.

Not sure how good the Bamboo would look with your SSII paint, but the Silverstone would go well, just a lot of silver, yah? |

I saw this a while ago, not sure if the seller might still have it for sale (if you're interested in outright buying, instead of trading):
http://www.xoutpost.com/classifieds/...rts-seats.html Forum member PAX5's friend recently went through the exercise of coding multi-contour seats in his X5, so you might want to contact him for pointers. |
