Dangling rubber hose

I found a dangling rubber hose mounted on top of air intake pipe on the passenger side of plastic engine cover if you have a 2012 X5 xDrive35i, could you please take a look and see where the other end is supposed to connected to? Thank you.

If its the same as my x3 n55, then it is the exhaust flap vacuum that connects to one of the two connections on the side of the valve cover.

Thank you for the help. I think the X5 is a little different, I don't see the 2 connections like yours on mine. I appreciate that.

My 2011 x5 (3.5) N55 has the (2) vacuum line ports. Recently replaced Valve Cover. Your charge pipe conceals the area. Use a mirror to verify location of vacuum ports and lines are in place.

I think I have to remove the pipe to see that area. I just replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils last week, I thought I saw the hoses in-place. Let me double check and let you guys know. Thank you.

You don’t have to remove anything to see or reach that area. They are right under that intake tube, slightly toward the rear of the engine. No mirror or tools required.

Yes, after removing the pipe, I can see the 2 ports. One without the a line in place. Now the question is how to secure the line. I can manage to insert the line but it is very loose and easily get disconnected again. I don't know if the tip of the rubber line is missing? Or do you know the part number of the rubber hose? Thank you all for the help. I think I am getting close to the resolution.

Cut off about an inch off the hose to expose the unstretch section to have it snug on tightly.

I cut off the top as your suggestion, still not very tight. I use some wires to tight it with other lines trying to keep it in place. Good thing, CEL has gone, I can floor it to test, up to 6000 rpm for a few seconds without any issue. I could not go over 3000 rpm and got error message "Engine Malfunction. Power reduced" before reconnected the line. Now everything is clear. Thank you so much guys!!!
