X6 Tire Rotation

I am driving an X6 ActiveHybrid with a staggered tire setup. The tires are run flat, directional Dunlops. The front tires are starting to show a bit of ware on the outside edges of both tires. I'm thinking about swapping the 2 front tires. Anybody had any experience with this? The dealer wasn't recommending it...indicating that the tires "set in" after driving and swapping them can introduce some rough driving. Anybody have any experience here?
thx

BMW does not recommend tire rotation. Worse, you should never swap fronts. Now last but not least (and forgive me if I'm tired and don't get it) - since they are directional, how would you swap fronts?

Staggered and rotation = no go
I've owned a few bimmers, but never heard ppl rotate staggered setup
Even if you do it, you would need to re-mount all tires from the rims
Not to mention, car would drive like crap afterwards

I think he is talking about just swapping the fronts. But like I said, they are directional. So (now that I am awake), I think you would have to dismount/remount them to swap them. I should also add that most tires come with a warranty and the uneven wear MIGHT be covered by the tire manufacturer. BMW dealers normally don't know about this - you have to go direct to the tire mfg (that's why we get a separate warranty book for the tires).

swapping the fronts...

yes...am talking about swapping the 2 front tires.

they are directional...so would have to remount left on right; right on left...which still maintains directionality. the thinking is...it puts the wear on the inside for each tire and extends life. The only question...will it affect the ride.

good point on the warranty...may have to look into that. Tires only have about 12k miles on them. The dealer claims the wear is normal on the outside like that...but the outside wear is substantially more than the rest of the tire.
