BMW X6M and X5M having fun in the snow
BMW X6M and X5M Snow Fun. Part 1 - Extreme Drifting BMW X6M and X5M Snow Fun. Part 2 - Hill Riding BMW X6M and X5M Snow Fun. Part 3 - Ice Wheelspin As a counterpoint to Clarkson's recent review of the X6, BMW shows us that the X5 M and X6 M can have fun in the snow too. Two BMW professional driving instructors talk us through their snow experience with the X cars. Make sure to watch these videos in HD! |

Clarkson needs to realize that high performance tires dont do snow or grass. The X635d would have dont just as well if it had the same tires on as the Range Rover.
Glad BMW is starting to release videos to show that.

Notice how they only got the x5 & x6 in flat terrain, i bet they couldnt go up more than a 6 degree slope with snow. I was the small hill they went up through but it was plowed so that doesnt count and they were at speed. what a joke, just admit that its damn fast street suv, but dont try to market it as an all terrain as well. The Cayenne, Touaraeg and Mercedes G wagon are the only 3 true german off road machines.

Ive driven an X5M in heavy snow. It does just as well if not better than other SUVs. As long as it has WINTER tires!!! High Performance tires and off road/Snow just dont get along. Try getting any car/suv/sav/sac to handle well with mudding tires. Last edited by Park2670; 01-18-2010 at 08:21 AM.. |

You will like part 2 of the Snow Action Series... (will be online this week, too).
Have a look at http://www.skiworldcup.it/attachment...Risa_Piant.jpg in the meantime. |

Its all about the shoes!!!! If you put on winter tires or all terrain tires on the X5/6 M im sure it will be fine. All these european heavy weights cannot beat a Jeep in all these situations. Proper Tires and ground Clearance is key and light weight. True 4wd will win and beat a ALL Wheel drive anyday!!!!

Lets be honest. Clarkson is an Englishmen. The UK received a bit of snow a few weeks ago and it shut down the entire country for days. I don't think Clarkson has much experience with the white stuff.

High Five to BMW for proving they can do the white stuff. That being said. I would rather have an SVT Raptor off road any time. |
