x6m vs 750i m sport?

Hey guys, i'm considering buying a new car sometime in the new year. My good friend has a nice x6m with 23 adv.1 wheels and a meisterschaft exhaust on it. It's a cool sav, i like it, but i also like the 750i m sport x drive model.

Both i can find a 2011 model for around the same price. I believe performance wise the x6m is ahead, but not by a huge amount due to the weight difference. I would tune either car. I want to know from those who have driven or own the x6m how do you compare it to the 750i m sport if any experience would appreciate some feedback.

Part of me wants a sports car, the 6'3 240lbs part of me wants a luxurious comfy car that can still be fun.

There is a rather extreme performance difference between the two cars. When tuned the gap gets even larger. The 750 is far more practical though. Both are beautiful cars. I would say drive both and make a decision based on your own comfort/initial feelings behind the steering wheel.

I recently saw a test on a 750i where it did 108 mph in the 1/4 mile. The x6m is in t

Just not sure if I want an sav. Hard to get a test drive for a 100k car around here but I'll try

Top speed and 1/4 mile times only correlate when considering the exact same vehicle. Talking about the difference between a mid 12 1/4 mile and a high 13 1/4 mile. Tune them, and like I said, that gap grows even larger.. Low 12's high 11's with the X6M and MAYBE high 12's.. low 13s in the 750.

If you are into tuning cars you understand how difficult it is to gain a full second in the 1/4 mile. Especially when we are talking about 2-3 ton vehicles.

If you cant get access to X6M, maybe you can drive X6 50i with adaptive suspension?
This will give you a good idea of driving dynamics
I actually drove X6 50i and new 550i back to back before i bought my M
X6 was hands down sportier ride, despite the weight difference
Keep in mind, it wasnt even x-drive version of this 550 (which is probably even less sporty than i)
With 7 series the gap will increase even more
Now, with power:
X6 50i is actually a bit quicker than 750i, but it's a wash
Imagine X6M with extra 155hp now
On top of that, there are a much better brakes and suspension
And with mild tune it gets to low 600s HP without braking any sweat

i do have access to an x6m, driven it a few times. And each time i like it more and more. Never wanted an sav but it has me thinking. Then again my friend Moe just bought a 750 li last week, i'm gonna message him and drive it. I'm curious as to how it feels.

Realistically i won't use 100% of the power of either, except on the freeway for the occasional 5 second romp. I find the 750i has a very elegant sophisticated look, and the x6m wants to eat babies. The rear of the x6m not fully my taste, but i'm liking it more than the x5m.

you should be able to get a much better deal cash wise on a 750 than an x6m...at least here, there were stupid deals.

the 7er is quicker but u NEED the active anti roll bar to be quicker than the x6 and not only that but with the sport package the x6 comes with summer tires and the stock 7 comes with all season and on the x drive summers arent even posible on m sport. only rwd models are available withe summers and trust me my old 750 with msport was miles quicker than my dad x6 5.0 with sport package on the track near me with the same driver

You realize that OP is comparing X6M with 750i, right?
The M will murder 750 in any situation, track, drag strip, highway roll, name it

Now, if you take x-drive OP wants into consideration, the gap widens even more
750 x-drive is pretty much inline with X6 50i, i'd say identical

oh i thought he meant the 5.0, but compared to the x6m the 7er would lose but i feel that the 7er still handles similarly to the x6m due to the higher center of gravity in the x6m. but for a large car with speed a alpina is pricey but my business partners b7 is stunning, and i might get that as my next car
