Very easy. I did mine in about 5 minutes.

Open the hood, look on the back of the grills you will see little clips. Pop one of the clips outwards ( sides of the grill were the easiest to come off first). Once you get one of the grill tabs out of the clip the rest are easy. The grill comes out from the front.

Thanks very much. Just saved me $100 from paying the dealer to swap them out! Greatly appreciated.

10 minutes the first time, 2 minutes after that if you are swapping out the whole thing. A few more minutes to swap out the slats but that is simple too, just be gentle.

Can the slates be done without removing the front bumper?

If you are talking about the mesh grilles, the top can be replaced without bumper removal but I removed the bumber to replace the lower mesh (from gray to black).

It is easy enough that I swapped mine in the delivery bay when I got my 2012, no tools, just knowlege. The sales manager was like "wow, that cost $150 in service? That sucks."
