VR not for me
A local dealer had a VR car with Oyster/Bamboo in the showroom today, the colour combo was exactly as my order due in September.
I ordered the VR colour based on the BMW promotional material and internet pics we have all seen. How disappointed I was today when I finally saw the colour for the first time in the metal. It looked flat in the showroom & I also got the guy to take it outside for me, so I could view in natural sunlight. It certainly did not give me the WOW factor that I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, it's not a horrible colour - but it was not as vibrant as I expected it to be. The sales guy told me, from all the X6 orders he has taken 10+ not one customer has chosen VR even though everybody seems to think it's a nice colour. He wondered if the VR would be a problem colour come trade in as there is no inital demand from customers who have placed orders. I have changed the spec of my car now to Saphire Black/Oyster/Bamboo to play safe. I was so looking forward to having a change from black Last edited by sirees01; 06-17-2008 at 10:29 AM.. |

It's personal taste, but I disagree! I think VR looks even better in the flesh than it does in pictures. It is one of those fascinating paints that seems to have about five different hues depending on the ambient light.

In the pictures it looks great, but to me all of them look good in photos because they are official press photos that are retouched and made to look good, so I was expecting to hate the color in person as I traditionally don't like that shade of red. But when I saw it in person, I was just floored! Its such a great color on the X6 and fits the character perfectly IMO, it does show different hues and has a certain sparkle to it that really catches the eye. I have to say this is the color I want my X6 in |

Simon, I must admit....VR is hard to beat on the X6.I'm more a gold/bronze type person as regards color on a car,i.e. my keen interest in the MS color for my own personal color decision. And I still like MS very much! But,for sheer WOW factor impact across all dayparts and nighttime situations,VR would have to be my choice. There is no situation in which VR does not look good on the X6!!!! A very well matched color by BMW for such a dynamic automobile. Thanks! PalBay
