Question x5m front windshield tint

Has anyone tinted their front windshield? I was told by the tint dealer that the process may entail excessive water dripping into the dashboard that may short out any electronics. He has never tinted the x5 windshield but has tinted many cars including brand new range rovers without any problems. I have a 2013 . please list your experience and year of vehicle, any help would be appreciated.

You mean the one window in the car that you really need to see out of? Especially at night?

I see your in TN, while you could do a UV clear tint and not run into problems with the man, I'd really shy away from anything darker than what came from the factory.

And as Steve said, I'd opt to not loose any visibility out the window I'm looking OUT of all the time, while you may say its nice and cool, anything that takes away visibility would be a loss or better put, fail.

I have 70% vkool on mine as that is legal now in Hawaii. Works great and you can't even tell it's tinted. Here is their site:

V-kool is basically the bench mark for high-end tint
My e84 in China has V40 all around and V70 on the windshield, cost $2k
In SoCal I don't see people tint their cars with v-kool, probably far too many products have way more reasonable price haha.
I had my x5m front windshield tint 70% ceramic tint(can't remember brand), and it does not affect any day/night visibility, and feels WAY cooler, I don't even need to turn on AC for short trip since the cabin can kept cool for a very long time.
Cost me $360 for the front, and installation will not affect any electronics, don't worry!

if putting on front tint will result in excessive water to be drained into the dash, than you need to find a better tint installer. the same logic applies to side windows with speakers, window controls, and door panels.

if you don't want to do the full front, you can do eyebrow tint like me, i did the top portion of the glass until the bottom of the rain sensor

35% on my windshield and its just fine. Did it on both my e70's and I can tell you it doesn't mess with anything. Go to someone who knows what they're doing and you'll be fine
