Best tank range X5d, highway

What's the best full tank range you got on your X5d. I have not had a chance to take her out on a long trip, most I have done so far is a 270 mile round trip on about 1/3 of a tank

Is this all highway miles or mixed driving. I get about 480 with mixed driving

I get a little over 30mpg on the hi way and around 24mpg mixed driving. I have seen 1,000km (621miles) on the distance to empty computer when hi way driving but I usually fill up at around 800km/tank (500miles) it could likely do closer to 900km/tank (560miles)before I am actually empty

I guess no one has run the experiment, I am to drive to Chicago in the summer, +700 mile trip one way. I will see how far one tank takes me.

I used to get 460-480 miles on one tank highway in my X5 35i so I was expecting over 600 miles for an X5 d. Based on the posts so far I may have to revise my expectations

Shut it. I get around 300miles, have to buy 92 octane, and can literally watch the needle go down on a trip to the grocer. You have it good.

All hi way, I think 600 is do able. I cruise at 120km/hr roughly 75mph, I pull off the hi way and fill up my distance to empty reads at over 1,000km so over 620miles the issue is my weekly trip from city to city is around a 100miles so I haven't really had a good stretch of all hi way on a tank of fuel to see what it will actually do. At 60-65mph I would think 600miles wouldn't be out of the question.

I have been very close to 600 miles a couple times during camping trips, but computer was reading 10 miles. Not good.

On a couple occasions, due to laziness, have run the tank to "5 miles", parked in my driveway (downhill) and guess what? No start.
Had to find an empty canister, go to nearby station, get a gallon of diesel and put in the tank.
So, if you happen to run completely empty, at least you don't have to worry about "air in the fuel system". 35d got no issues with that.

I just drove from Jackson, WY to Portland, OR and averaged 26.2mpg. This was with mixed driving between 65-78mph and some decent sized hills. As mentioned earlier, I think 600 miles on a tank is definitely doable if you were to keep he speed around 60-65mph...which is pretty easy in Oregon considering everything is a 55 or 65 zone.

Just went from Ventura County to Big Bear (7000' plus) over the weekend. Cruise control the majority of the way at 75-80 mph except for the last 21 miles up the mountain. Total trip, including a bit of driving in Big Bear, was 325 miles. Back home with a hair under 1/2 tank, dashboard readout at 25.5mpg. A range of 550-600 seems within reach, at least for us.
