Do you mean a X5M or an X5 with the M cosmetic package?
The TRUE M has a 4.5 second zero-to-sixty performance numbers with the 440 HP & 500ft/lbs of torque. The X5 5.0i with the M-Sport cosmetics does not break the 5 second barrier Last edited by ndabunka; 08-15-2012 at 04:36 PM.. |

All I know is it has an additional 40hp and 50lb/ft
for 440 HP and 500lb/ft. Must be pretty quick....but for all that money...why not get the M? It seems like a no brainer for me... I fuggin love my M. Wouldn't go any other way.

Thanks fellow Charlotte, NC. I was talking about the 0-60 on the X5 50i with the "M Performance" package that adds 40HP to the base 50i. The monster X5M pumps out 555HP and runs 0-60 in the mid-4's (though I read one test where is was running low 4's). The standard 50i is supposed to be mid-5s, so I'd guess low 5's with the M Performance Package (MPP)? Who knows. Curious if anyone has read any actual tests. Thanks.

I know...would have loved the X5M...but by the time I spec'd it out the way I wanted it....just too far over my budget. One day!

The X5M has 555hp and does 0-60 in 4 seconds flat with launch control. The X5 50i has 400 hp and does 0-60 in 4.8. The X5 with the M-sport package has 440 hp and hasn't been tested in mags but probably hits 60 in about 4.5 seconds. And the X5 50i with Dinan stage 1 or 2 has around 500 hp and probably gets to 60 in around 4.2-4.3. I haven't tested but I've had both this and the X5M and the off-the-line performance is very close. |

I would guess that I can run 3.9 with my tune before heat soak. exfyvem is probably even faster with downpipes and exhaust.

The M is definitely awesome, but gets horrendous gas mileage. If you drive a lot you should take that into consideration. When I had mine I was filling up every other day. With the 50i and the 8-spd transmission I get about double the range even with the Dinan chip.

Nice. I have a similar car, minus the m package. Going with the Dinan chip in a few weeks. Nice to hear the feedback about it performance wise.
