E92 Idrive Controller

Hello,

I hope someone can help since I have done much research and can't find any information that has helped me.

I own a 2011 335is. I was carrying a gallon of distilled water in the trunk not knowing that the amplifier sits under the cap on the driver's side, the gallon tilted and slowly leaked into it. Basically the compartment had water and the speakers started making loud static noise. By the time I got to disconnecting the battery the sound was dead. I later figured out what had happenned and dried out the amplifier and hooked it back up. I figured (as with previous cars I have had) that there was a fuse that would go out before the whole amplifier burns....so I started checking all the fuses related to the radio. In the process i disconnected one that turned off the whole idrive screen and when I hooked it back on the idrive controller/knob was dead. It was working perfectly before this...now its dead.

I figure I will need a new amp to fix my sound...but I don't understand why the perferctly good idrive knob/controller is dead now...no lights or nothing...I hope someone can help.

I have reset the idrive...all seems to boot and work fine...just the knob...I also disconnected the battery for a period of time and hooked it back on and still not working.
