I just did OEM Rotors and Powerstop Z23 Pads. They are low dust and have a VERY good bite, maybe 90% OEM.

Definitely go with OEM rotors, BMW of South Atlanta has them for the cheapest, and i bet you can get your dealer to price match. I paid 1100 for all four.

When I looked a couple months ago, there were no aftermarket rotor options available for the X5M cheaper than OEM rotors. EBC has some claiming to fit but they don't seem to exist when you try to buy them.

In before "why are you trying to go with cheap parts on a $100k SUV" lol

A deal fell thru on getting a complese F85 set for conversion onto my E70, so at the last minute I threw new rear pads onto the stock rotors in May before Bimmerfest since I got the warning and didn't wanna hear the dinging for a week straight, never had an issue though. The front exhibits the typical squeal when cold, so I'm due to replace the fronts soon enough.

Why are the front pads a mistake?

I threw new rear pads onto the stock rotors since they were perfect but the front exhibits the typical squeal when cold, so I'm due to replace the fronts soon enough.
I should also mention that the Z23 pads do squeal for the first brake in the morning.

I know, aftermarket parts on a 100k vehicle, but the pads are worth every penny dust wise

That sucks :/ I figure I'm gonna apply TONS of anti-squeel compound to the backs of the pads and hope for the best.

It's a $33k SUV to me, and at the end of the day, it's still just a car...screw the ///M tax. If BMW factory stuff was the best of the best, there'd be no squeeking, no aftermarket industry, etc.

Meh...minus the transmission, diff and transfer case fluids; I've done all my own repairs. Overall I'm still happy as hell with it and love searching out races.
