2008 BMW X5 e70 radio mute on when car turned on

when i turn my car on the radio mute icon is on and the radio is on mute until i change the station or push the volume knob on the radio... whats going on here? i have read it could be due to low battery. I have had a battery discharge message recently ( as i dont drive alot and caar sits a while ) - so i put a charger on battery until full - but still mute on when car starts.. do i need to do something to get this to stop???? it always worked fine in the past... please help.. its a bit anoying..

Is there a way to reboot iDrive on an E70?

If I don't drive mine for a week or so it does the same thing

Are you saying that if you do not go see her for a week, she gives you the silent treatment?
