Angel Eyes Upgrade with BMW Warranty - Best Option

Hi all

I have a 2009 X6 and would like to upgrade the yellow look AE's to white but i have a BMW warranty for 24 months remaining so don't know about fitting Lux LED's as i don't want to risk problems in the event of a claim by giving BMW the chance to "get out" due to none specified parts.

Normal H8 bulbs from the likes of MTEC, GP Thunder and many others seem the best route but having read the reviews it seems they will be poor.

I'm not expecting LCI illumination just transfer from dull yellow to white, will 6000k to 7500k super white bulbs be OK or will they fail to light all 4 rings?

I assume i am correct in saying that fitting the Lux LED's would be an issue, if found by the dealers?

I appreciate that has been beaten to death but i wanted advise before i buy and install then regret it.

Thanks

Carl

unfortunately a halogen well never look at good as an LED angel eye solution so its really yuor choice on what you would prefer to do.

With our LUX H8's, we have never had an issue with them causing any problems on a vehicle and we carry a 1 year warranty on the lights also. Dont forget that they are 100% plug and play, which means they are 100% reversible as well if you ever decide to remove them, change them, etc. The only time a dealer would give you a problem is if there is a problem with the headlight

Personally, I left my LUX in the car while going in to service, and the dealers have not given me trouble (yet).

LUX H8 is good. Just let you know MTEC H8 LED came out about 4 months ago.
Mtec H8 LED is the newest one in the market, 6W CREE LEDs.

Am i right in saying the new V3 MTEC Cree LED isnt applicable to the X6 though? A company in the UK i have used in the past sells these for 50% of the Lux cost but doesnt list the X6 as compatible, or the X5 E70 for that matter?

Newer doesnt mean better. We have done a comparison and found that our LUX H8 V3 is still brighter. Also wattage doesnt matter, if you are using an inefficient driver and LED it could user more wattage and produce less light
