2007 E70 X5 Bluetooth Pairing

I just picked up a 2007 E70 X5 and when I try to pair my iPhone 7 with it I am having some difficulty ...so I go into pairing mode and my phone does see the E70 as "BMW" so when I go to put a code in my phone it will go in and then ask me to put that code into my E70.....when I put the same code into the E70 ....I get a message on my phone that it was unsuccessful ...so I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if the E70 will just not pair with a iPhone 7 ......has anyone here ran into that same problem?
thank you for any help on this!!

Try using a 6-digit code. Apparently, it has to be that length.

My 2008 has synched with iPhones 3,4,5,6,7 with no issues.

I have had the issue where it doesn't even ask for the code on the phone and I just put 0000 in the car and it pairs. I'd try and play with it for a while. If anything you can go to a dealer and ask the "specialist" to help.
So you know the CCC doesn't allow music but you can get Bluetooth aux input units to put in your center console. I used the griffin for the longest time since it was small and clean looking. When my griffin died I replaced with an Amazon BT 4.2 unit. It turned out to have way better audio. You can have both the standard BMW Bluetooth for phone calls and have the music unit connected at the same time regardless of your brand choice. Works great.

brian5 I did try what you suggested and have been messing with it today trying all different things and for some reason it just won't connect.....as soon as I key the code into the X5 it says pairing unsuccessful on my phone.....guess i'll just call BMW and ask them...it seems to me that it should connect without issues

Maybe try resetting the iPhone first by holding power/home until the apple logo shows up then pair. Also make sure your iPhone is on the latest iOS.

I have an iPhone 7 and when I tried pairing it for the first time, it gave that same error. My E70 is a 2011 however. YMMV
