If you must do auto touch free is the only way to go.
Keep a couple sham WOWs in the trunk and just wipe dry to get the excess crud off. Good auto washes should leave too much behind. |

There's a trade off. Go Touchless, and you risk getting < 100% clean. Go Cloth, and you risk getting (normal) wear, including scratches, on your paint job. My vehicle is not brand new, so I'd prefer going Cloth. If yours is spanking new, then buyers beware, right?
Of course, if you have plunked down $80K on a new vehicle, you should consider going auto detailing/hand wash only. |

i'm in canada as well, for the winter month, i only do touchless. I know it's not perfectly clean as spots are often missed, but try different automatic carwash, some are better than others. Also if somethings really aren't good enough, than go for the self wand wash so you can spend more time with certain areas

Yup never once taken mine through a touchless or soft cloth wash. Hand wash is the way to go or done by the trusted hands of my local detailer
