When do you realign the vehicle after lowering spring installation?

I know it needs to be realigned, but when? Immediately after or do you have to wait for the springs to settle first?

ideally, u should do it immediately to make sure it doesn't wear out the tire because of bad settings and have a readjustment done after the springs settle.

but since the springs doesn't drop a lot nor would it cause a significant difference, you can do it in a week or two

Yup. I always do it about 2 weeks after doing a suspension swap or collar adjustment on cars with coilovers.

so ideally, immediately, then a week or two later. Will it be whacked enough that it will definitely require an alignment immediately? Also, should be just a front end alignment on X5's with the air suspension, as we are just changing the lowering links in the rear, right?

And thanks for all the input! She goes in for a little cosmetic surgery in the morning!

on the x5m, you most likely don't need it immediately, but it does depend on if the toe adjustment is messed with or not during the install.

while i'm unsure, but i think on there isn't any adjustment directly for the camber, it's mainly the toe which effect the camber at the same time. And the rear toe is adjustable, so you need a front and rear alignment.

i'm guess you are putting on springs, let us know which brand and your impression

H & R 1.2 with rear lowering links. Just got her back. Ride seems to be pretty damn close to stock, but like a fat girl, she's got a little wiggle in her ass. Will drive it for a while and see how it settles out. I assume some of that will go away as the springs settle in.

good to know, i have this kit sitting in the garage, just wondering when to put them on. can you elaborate a bit on the wiggle? what do you specifically mean?

also how high did you set the rear at for stock ride quality?

When going over a bigger bump, their is a faint bounce after initial impact. I haven't measured to see how far they dropped it. I told them an inch but it looks like a good bit more. I will drive it for a couple weeks before I decide what to do, but I think it may need to go ip a 1/4 inch.
