What do the shops charge for this these days? Any issues with paint peeling?

wow...If I had known you could retrofit a 35d at a reasonable price to the bumpers and fenders of an M Sport, I probably would have bought a diesel. That's fantastic.

Get some wider rubber on that beast!

I was quoted $1800 with paint, labor and msport parts. I've seen a silver one in Colorado up close and the textured pieces will chip off overtime, it's a tough climate there though.

Might be worth it if it's $500 just paint stock stuff bc the look is 2000x better. I was also thinking about vinyl wrap those parts

Will the M Sport parts fit? OEM parts are very expensive.

Yes, it's fender flares, and 4 door strips. 8pc come paintable that's the only diff.

Can you tell me if your X5 came with this side skirt or if it was purchased after? I have the aluminum running boards right now, and want to replace them with these:

sorry for the delayed response. it would probably cost on average of $1200. the price will vary from body shop to body shop, but i would choose only a reputable shop.

if done right, the painted trim won't chip any faster than the oem painted parts.

does your x5 have the sports package?

the side skirt is oem. if you order the x5 with running boards, the running boards are installed over the side skirts.

Yes, mine has the sport package with the running boards and black plastic wheel flares. I would like to take the running boards off, and have it painted like yours... front, rear and sides.

Do I need to buy any parts or just have the body shop remove and paint the trim pieces and take off the running boards and not put them back on?

No, you need to get a set of standard running boards including the inner support because they are different. So far I have swap 3 sets of standard running boards to aluminum running boards to my 07, my 11 and my brother's 11 so they are definitely diferent parts
