Crank, No Start ...Need Help Desperately

Hello folks,

I have an e70 4.8i with crank, no start.

My findings/tests so far:
  • Tested the fuel pump motor successfully with BimmerGeeks ProTool. But it does not "click" or activate when I prime the car - I don't hear the humming/buzz.
  • Checked many fuses/relays, found nothing faulty.
  • Cleared a crankshaft position sensor fault by replacing the sensor (was really hoping this was the issue)
  • Replaced battery (and registered).
  • Compression test in one cyl to rule out timing - good result.

A few things to note that I have noticed with the car:
  • No spark when cranking.
  • The old crankshaft position sensor was not the expected part number and was connected with a modified connector. I have ripped the modified connection and connected with the original connector. This seems weird to, I have no idea why this was done.
  • There are various weird electronics behavior.. Seats don't move. The iDrive system is acting weird, FM/AM is not selectable. The unlock/lock beep is intermittent. Likely more that I have missed.

Present codes:
  1. 601D DSC INTERFACE: SIGNAL INVALID
  2. 601E DSC INTERFACE: SIGNAL INVALID
  3. A6CF AUC Sensor
  4. 9CB5 Battery Exhausted
  5. 93C6 Backrest lock (E93)/seat memory (E70/E71) for driver's seat
  6. D36A No message (VTG, OxBC), receiver DSC, transmitter VTG
  7. A0B4 Engine start, starter operation
  8. 2F08 Intake-air temperature sensor, signal
  9. 9CC0 Communication with step motor controller on the right exhausted
  10. 9CBF Communication with step motor controller on the left exhausted
  11. 9CAA Terminal 30B Connection faulty
  12. A092
  13. A0A2
  14. A670
  15. A3C7 No message, receiver instrument panel, transmitter EHC

Maybee a stupid remark.

I got Triggerd by all the other electric problems, check for water problems in the car, trunk left and right behind the covers, check under the carped, and check under the hood at the passenger side under the interior filters.

Problem Solved today.

1 - Took the rear trunk fuse board out entirely and found a short on the board. After repairing the short, the radio and seats, amongst other things started working but still crank no start. But the crankshaft position sensor code came back.

2 - Replaced the CPS again... and it fired right up
