M Steering Wheel on X5 50i

I have a 2012 X5 50i with Sport Package - Steering wheel came with the paddle shifters (non-heated). I would like to swap it M Steering wheel (not M-Sports). It looks like the M wheel should be a quick swap and compatible with my existing airbag. What I don't know if my existing paddle shifters will work. Has anyone tried this? Thanks!

If yours has paddle shifters, then the paddle shifters on the new one should work. The question is why do you want to swap it out? The M steering wheel for the 50i doesn't have paddle shifters, so I assume you are talking about the steering wheel from the X5M. Comparing to the M-sport steering wheel (which is the one you have if you have a 2012 50i with paddle shifters), they look exactly the same except that the paddles are nicer on the M-sport version than on the M version.

yes i'm talking about the X5M steering wheel. i don't have M-Sport Steering wheel right now.. just the reg sports wheel with paddle shifters. i'm upgrading for the tri-color stitching and nappa leather.
