NEWB here.. Looking for an X5
Hey guys..
This is my first post on this site. My wife and I have been thinking of trading in our Infiniti QX56 for something a little smaller and better on gas. We looked around and decided we really liked the X5's. Drove a xdrive50 last wek and loved it. I'm still learning about them and can't seem to find a rhyme or reason as to some of the different body styling. I know there was a change in '11 but I found this one on eBay and wondered what the deal with it was. Looks different than all the others I've seen. I know it isn't an X5M but it doesn't look like an xDrive35i or xDrive50i.. It is listed as a 2012 though. Any ideas? More pics http://content.liquidmotors.com/cm/P...o6/pic.aspx%27 Also, is there common problems or things I should know before purchasing a BMW? We are leaning toward the 3.0 twin turbo X5. 2011 or newer. I live where there are no close dealers. Closest is 2.5 hours away. Should that be an issue? I've always had Acura, Lexus and Infiniti and all three have not had any problems so a close dealer has never been an issue. |

hello there ! congratulations on your decision for the X5 ! personally i would go for the earlier non-turbo version either the 3.0i or the 4.8i. I've always believed that naturally aspirated engines will have better longevity than the turbocharged ones. but this is just my personal thoughts. I used to live in El Paso, Texas and i had an E60 M5. I drove to Phoenix each time for a major service. look up autotrader or craigslist and you should find the right one! good luck for your search !

Thanks for your replies. I finally sold my QX56 yesterday so now the hunt is on! I definitely want white on black so I hope that isn't hard to find.
Like I said on my OP, I'm concerned about the quality of the x5. I know that they're super nice but I guess I just want to know what to expect as far as problems. |
