E70 - Replaced the batt. now no crank and no start!!!
Hey guys. I was getting sluggish starting on my E70. Recently on days where it was super cold, I got a crank and no start. Had to jump. I have also gotten battery warnings on the dash. So I figured it’s time to replace the battery. I just replaced it with an OEM from BMW. I put the positive terminal on and then the negative side back on before putting the “power block” on top of the positive terminal. When doing so, it sparked a little and I heard a sound ( like when the car turns power off to save the battery). Thought nothing of it, put everything back. Went to start it, the car cranked for a quick second and then nothing. Since then, it is not cranking at all now. Everything powers on, but press the start button and you get nothing. Not even an attempt to crank. Do you think I blew a fuse when when that power block sparked? If so, what fuses or components should I be checking for?

Would be unrelated to the new battery but definitely check your grounding strap.
Sounds like it could have been on the way out? There should be a bunch of threads to find info on it |

Ran into this last year as well. It's your ground strap like King Cliff said.
