Went to the track......
I can say im not too happy... It was about 65 degrees out... First pass with launch control.. mdm was off and edc on comfort.. 12.69 at 109.. Car and driver says stock is 12.5. So with my Velos tune and downpipes i shot for a 12.0. Second pass was same but i put edc in sport.. 12.51 @ 110. Not much more i could have done.. 60' times was a great 1.79...Maybe cooled down longer...but nowhere near a 12.0. Dragtimes shows stock at 12.7-12.8.. So going by that I am somewhat happy.. But then there is a renntech tunes only car showing a 11.99....

Was the renntech at the track you were at? The only way to get a valid time comparison on a powertrain combo is same time, same track, preferably same driver.
How many runs did you take? It can take time to get the optimal staging position, launch, location on the track, etc. |

There's a test out there (Motor Trend, maybe?) where they ran the car 25 times in a row, and watched 0-60 climb from 4.05 to 4.5 by the time they were done due to heat soak. If your car was warm - as in not having sat with the hood open and maybe even ice on top for hours - then you're probably going to be losing a lot of time to heat soak.
My -V is also very susceptible to this (and I drag race it), so speaking from experience with the concept, if not the X5M as a platform yet. |
