Our x5d 's approaching 30k and I plan on doing the AT fluid change, Differentials front/ rear ... I waited to 50k on the e90 and was sorry to see the 'black' fluid come out, do u think I shd just hand $50 to the SA and ask him (like someone suggested in another post lol) ... if not I can do myself plenty of DIYs on the web I'm sure

My SA strongly believes no later than 50K on the drive line fluids in your X5 no matter what BMW says. The mechanics agree as well. He is a friend so he is not trying to sell me anything.

No way yearly at best with typical mileage, upwards of 18k a year. I guarantee that after a year the fluid will be black, going 50k is insane.

So what your saying is you replace your driveline fluids at 18k or yearly. To me that seems a but excessive but then again some people think my fluid changes intervals are excessive.
