2010 X5 diesel: extend the warranty?

Hi,

My X5 ran out of warranty: it's been 5 years and 59K. I decided to keep it for longer than expected, but never bought the extended warranty. What's the best thing to do right now if I will keep driving it?

Is there any way this car can be CPO'ed?

Thanks,
Alex

Once you're out of warranty there's no way to CPO it I guess ... you can look into aftermarket warranties, Route 66, Mercury etc

When buying ANY warranty, be very careful to understand in advance of what you're getting. There's nothing like dishing out several thousand dollars, only to find that when you make a claim, something isn't covered. Often times, obscure language precludes coverage for "peripheral" accessories. That's what the provider will point out to you when you appeal the non-coverage. Be careful-they know what they're doing.
