Let me know your thoughts on wheel options...
Using my amateur PS skills these are the two that i'm looking at.
I stole a pic of GSXR's truck for this since we have essentially the same truck and suspension. Downside on this wheel is that it's a 22x10.5 in the rear. Though these are my favorite visually I don't like that I would have to run a 10.5 in the rear with a square setup. Edit* Another black option Next wheel is the 300 rep in 22". Rear on this would be 22x11 and front 10... Also $1500 more.

I personally would not want a 10.5 in rear, it is to small.. I like the look of the replicas, but how is the quality?
In europe we are not allowed to drive replicas.. Last edited by X Driver; 02-22-2016 at 01:46 PM.. |

I've been able to find several x5's with them on it and no issues regarding quality. I'm not willing to spring the money on the bigger name ADV, HRE, Velo's, etc. Just can't justify them in the slightest bit to myself.

3 out of 4 wheels have minor scratches on them but nothing major. no tires and tpms won't work with u car. PM me if you interested, I will let them go pretty cheap, you also somewhat close to me. |

Sent you a PM, shipping probably won't make it doable for us.
I saw your M in your post when you got it. I would have thought the wheels that came on it were the ugliest thing but they turned out to look really good once on the truck and it lowered.

Friends don't let friends buy narrow wheels!
Hey Doc! First of all, I'm honored that you would photoshop my X5M.
How about these? These are 22x10 and 22x11 BMW 599M Replicas. BMW only produced the 599 "M" wheels in 21", but the 22 replicas suit the vehicle better IMO. They are a Brushed faced wheel with deep concavity windows going towards the center. The quality of the brushed face/gunmetal window finish is spot on. They look awesome when parked and even better when rolling! Accepts BMW centers and ///M sticker badges. Staggered, so the rears are even deeper. my Buddy had them on his X5M for about 5k miles and rode them all over awful New England roads, so they can take a lick....and still ride smooth as butter! No issues with replicas here + I get tons of complements on them (I think they look as good or better than any factory wheel). Again, My buddy (who is ridiculously anal about wheels) had them on his X5M until he replaced them with ADVs... now I have them on my X5d. I had also considered this exact wheel for my X5M before committing to the BBS SVs. Now that I have a set of ADVs on order for the X5M, I will likely be selling either my BBS SVs or this set... one set of which will land on the 35d (I'm giving wifey first dibs since the D is technically her car) Another option is to powdercoat your original M wheels in either Black or Ferric Gray. I have seen this done in combination with slight lowering and spacers. This option totally changes the character of our trucks without the cost associated with buying new wheels and tires... also, if you're going with black wheels, 20s will look just fine. You really wont notice the size difference so much because of the relative low contrast between the color of the wheel and the tire. + The original wheels can look pretty awesome/aggressive in black. my $0.02 |

Ditto what others have said. 10.5 is too narrow on the rear for any E70 with flares. Square setups look awkward.
edit: the rear width of these cars is almost comical. I run a 22x12 with a good aggressive offset with 335mm tires AND a 12mm spacer and I'm still not flush with the edge of the flare. Last edited by rennis; 02-23-2016 at 08:55 PM.. |

...after which the BBS SV's may land on the X5D and we may end up selling the 599M reps. |

I know you've talked to a lot of people about your BBS but if you keep them I think you let everyone bid on them.

I'm really have a tough time with this one.
On the 10.5 I could run a 315 and the offset could be accomplished with a 10mm spacer on the front. I would only be loosing 3/4 inch in tire from the 335 to the 315. GSXR - What color wheels did you order?

I stepped off the ledge when I ordered Matte Bronze faces with Gunmetal barrels. I decided early on that if I were going with something different than the BBS, then I felt like I needed an alternate color to differentiate them even more. I didn't want black, nor did I want to go with any type of shiny polished wheel either... There was really no other choice: So I'm hoping I made the right one. |
