X5m/x6m downpipe question
Has anyone ever seen an x5 or x6m with slip on downpipes instead of two bolt flanges where it connects to the exhaust?

yap, they are suppose to be for 2011 or newer S63 or something along those lines, the stock exhaust added a slip on flange after the two bolt and the downpipes that uses the slip on design is a little longer. However, this is rather pointless since the 2 bolt still works just fine on the newer year car, and if you want to pair with a full exhaust like Akra, you must use the 2 bolt style

I'm not 100% sure when is the switch, but i think it's in 2011, there might be a specific month that they go by too, check with AR design, they are the only once i know that makes a slip fit. The slip fit section is after the flange, so if you take it apart, the flange section on the stock exhaust get replaced

I have a 2013 X6m. I hoisted the car and looked underneath and it is a two bolt flange style design.

I did catless with Akra, so i used the 2 bolt setup too, it's been a while so maybe i'm mistaken. But check with GTB performance to confirm which once is for our cars. My information about the newer year using the flange is from their website

There is a two bolt flange followed by a slip-on flange at the point where the exhaust mates with the downpipe for the 2011+. Don't worry about it. It's there almost to make removing the exhaust easier without loosening the bolts to the downpipe. I'm not sure why its there but its only a 8" section. If you look up a little further, you will see the two bolt flange.
