You mentioned iPhone or AWRON...so which is this from? AFAIK iPhone doesn't have a Torque app, I've tried my OBDII dongle on an iPhone (I don't recall the app they used) and it didn't read, then AWRON feeds from the OBDII port so that makes me wonder if it's an app settings issue and not a factory boost sensor issue.

Stock is 17.4psi, which is what I show regardless of if I'm running my stock tune or stage 2 tune. Seems the only difference I can see via the gauges is my AFR changes to a little more lean at WOT when on the stage 2 tune. It is a night and day difference between the two tunes, so I can only imagine how it'll be when I run more than stock PSI. That's why I'm hoping someone else would buy the dongle, run the software on an Android device and verify if they're seeing what I'm seeing to eliminate if it's an app settings issue, sensor on the car issue or tuning issue.

The app I used on my droid maxx didn't show boost and or incorrect psi on both my x5m and 535. The blue dongle you used, I bought three of them last year one for each car and now all in the junk pile.

I just leave them in each car and never remove them unless there's soon random reason like checking a friend's car. Last summer I saw an older couple in a classic 50's looking Ford that was broken down at the gas station. Come to find out it was a kit car with a Saleen engine. Old guy was awesome...kicked a CEL doing over 130, but then died and wouldn't start. Ends up the car still had an OBDII port, read and cleared his misfire codes right there, car fired right up. |

If I remember right 535 would move up and down like 3psi, and I was map 2 on jb4 witch is 14.5psi. Nice thing about jb4 on n54/535 is the fuel gauge is my boost gauge and it is dead on. On the x5m I think it was max out all the time and would move, but Ill check tomorrow, my friend got some new dongles and said they are better then the blue ones. I used Piston app on android

"Jb4 on my 535" Was just saying I didn't get a correct reading on it either(535) even though the jb4 was reading boost correctly. X5m is stock and I'll load the torque app and go get the dongle in the morning and check it.

OP, I have OBDLINK LX (best rating obd2 dongle) and its free app OBDLINK , + also have used/use Torque Pro and Dash Command. I have the android version of the dongle but it also comes in both iphone/format or single format (WiFi or Bluetooth).
Mine reads everything accurately! I've gone stock, stage1, stage2, and piggyback tuned and I get the actual boost psi reading correctly. So it may be your dongle ?

Bavarian tech doesn't even support real time data for the S63 and is junk for us. BMWLOGGER just stays maxed out at 22.4 psi. Interestingly it shows the PID commanded boost value but inverse of what the command is starting at the same 22.4 psi, which I think is the limit of our MAP sensors. So 20 psi commanded shows as -2.4 psi. |
